The Irish Independent reported over Christmas that the government are planning a mass state-wide leaflet drop in early February encouraging people to register for the household tax and threatening them with dire consequences if they fail to do so.

IMAGINE THOUSANDS of houses left bereft of schools, open space or a community centre for years. Imagine green areas, playgrounds, parks and pitches left unfinished and/or withheld from residents for years while builders move on happily to their next profitable project.
Josephine Freehily launched the Revenue Commissioners campaign on the Property Tax by announcing, “you cannot hide from Revenue.” The Campaign Against Home & Water Taxes will not be hiding anywhere – we will be launching a massive campaign of opposition to this hated tax over the next three months.
